Sky Mic
musical diversity rolled into one
The essence of Sky Mic is to experience Berlin’s musical diversity in a nutshell. Once a month, artists from different genres present their music to a diverse audience, compiled of fans, creatives, industry representatives and travelers from all around the world. The diversity of performers and audience make each Sky Mic event a one-of-a-kind experience. The performances are accompanied by a house band of experienced session-musicians.

LIONERA
LIONERA, the 21-year-old newcomer from Frankfurt, doesn’t mince her words. Her music tells stories of loss and fear, of depression and guilt, but also of deep love, of home and healing. A soft soul meets hard words. „Frighteningly authentic and a little too real.“ Coming all the way from Frankfurt to Berlin, let’s wholeheartedly welcome LIONERA to the eastside!
RKS Newton
RKS Newton is a versatile artist with a passion for R&B and various genres. He started with piano at 5, to later evolve into a highly requested singer, rapper, and producer. Sky Mic attendees know him for blessing our shows with his piano skills in the houseband, but this time, he’s also dropping his original hot stuff on us.

Don’t bother if the weather is cold on April 20, because these MC’s will set the eastside on fire. Established four years ago, Tox, Tumany and Trim have already cooked up a bunch of stages in Berlin and elsewhere. The trio is on an exciting journey, currently working on their album “Franglais”.
TOSHÍN
Toshín’s exhilarating live shows go from the heartfelt soul of Aretha Franklin to all-out James Brown-esque funky goodness, and has seen her play all of Ireland’s top music festivals including Electric Picnic, Beyond the Pale, All Together Now. Toshín has also supported Macy Gray on her Irish Tour, the incredible true soul outfit Staple Jr Singers, Corrine Bailey Rae & Kurt Elling, as well as performing sold out headline shows in both Dublin’s Whelans and The Grand Social.
With a number of new releases and an album in the pipeline, Toshín is set for a big 2024 ahead.

Introducing Band and host
Our events are framed and carried by a houseband of experienced session musicians. Georg (bass), Ada (guitar), Sami (drums) and Robert (keys) accompany seasoned performers and newcomers. On the sound we got our live mix magician Flo. The show is hosted and organized by Jonas, who founded Sky Mic in July 2023 and who always loves to throw in a fancy cover-arrangement with the band, be it Queen, Mac Miller or twenty one pilots. Together, team Sky Mic is shaking up Berlins music scene by creating a vibrant show the city hasn’t seen before.

Above the rooftops of the city, the creative pulse of Friedrichshain meets the nobility of a modern design hotel. At the same time, the Eastside Gallery is a place where a dark part of Berlins history comes to live: less than 40 years ago, the inner German border, nick-named the „death-strip“, meant a fatal end for more than 600 people who were seeking for the freedom we are enjoying today. Aware of the dark past of this location, Sky Mic specifically marks a place of creativity and openness to the world, where freedom and diversity are explicitly welcomed and celebrated.

Not only experienced and established artists, but also many newcomers, have the chance to present their art at Sky Mic. Therefore, we promote a supportive and friendly atmosphere on stage as well as in the audience. We will not tolerate any kind of hostility or discrimination.
